Having fun with Claire, mia Nipote

Claire got here on Sunday afternoon having arrived from Seattle into Rome late on Saturday night. Sunday morning, she took airport train to Tiburtina station, changed to regional train and onto Chiusi. Since the Sunday, very limited bus schedule, didn’t fit into her schedule, she took a taxi to Montepulciano, about 45 minute drive. When they arrived at the gate of the village, the driver stopped and said, “Montepulciano”, and wasn’t inclined to go further. Claire kept showing him her GPS saying it was still a 10 minute drive to the apartment. He would respond “Montepulciano”. She wouldn’t get out, so eventually he, unhappily drove her to the apartment. Good thing because that would have been a long walk uphill with her luggage.

I have been showing her the local sights, and restaurants, and bars and some she is discovering on her own, as well as she likes more exercise than I. We went to the Museo Civico to see the “attributed to” Caravaggio. It took so long to find the Caravaggio that we forgot to take a photo of it. We did happily find the Della Robbia’s.

Thanks Flor for driving us to Montalcino, home of Brunello wine. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape on the drive, the town and breakfast. Chocolate croissant and Caffe Americano for me; Caprese Salad and Cappuccino for Claire
