Lunch at The Blue Anchor Inn pub

After a busy morning and early afternoon, we almost missed lunch. We arrive at The Blue Anchor at 2:10. There were some fellows out front enjoying a pint in the sunshine. Ann asked of them if we’d missed lunch, thinking 2:00 pm was closing time. One replied, “better get in there fast, they quit taking orders at 2:20. We hurried, as we were both were hungry. The server quickly gave us menus and encouraged us to order quickly. We did, then spent the next hour or so enjoying our meal and getting to know each other more. I love the charm of the ancient pubs, often hundreds of years in business.

An ancient windmill being preserved. Thank goodness!
