Cervinia, Italy

Cervinia is a beautiful Alpine village in Italy, opposite side of the mountain from Zermatt in Switzerland.  We took 3 lifts up to as close as one can come to the top of the mountain and from there we had a close-up view of the Matterhorn.

The drive from Bern, climbing into the Alps, was breathtaking and when we went up even higher in the ski lifts, there were no words, just emotions.  Janyll and I both choked up several times from the sheer beauty.

In our apartment with the Matterhorn (top in clouds) behind me. I had selected the lodging in Cervinia (not my best work) which was very tiny, with bunk beds.  In order to sit on the toilet you had to put your feet in the shower.  The apartment did get a Thumbs Up for location.

"The hills are alive with the sound of music". We stopped on the way out of town to frolic. Well, I to photograph the frolicking.  Driving to Bellagio, on Lake Como.
